oil light

hi all ust got me a 5 after many years been out in it today and hammerd it in first gear and noticed the oil light flashed on for a second when flat out in first....is this a problem i should be worried about ? also seemed to crunch when changing to 2nd gear and it pops out of 2nd gear as well and the spring thing that holds the gear stick steady is missing...anyone shed any light here ?

Sorry to sound daft but have you checked the oil level?

Also any idea when the last oil change was done as oil can go real thin over time.

If the level is correct I'd look at doing an oil change ASAP!

Does your oil pressure gauge work? If so what's the reading?

As for your box, it sounds like a worn synchro to me but there are a lot more technical folk on here that can help you there.
