I sold the RB a few weeks ago with the intention of going sensible and derv or to purchase a cheaper vehicle, i couldn't find anything that caught my attenion...... Until this came up for sale :ashamed:

1 of only 33 in this colour made for the UK market so even more exclusive than the Liquid Yellow or Trophy Capsicum Red.... I bring you the Petrol Blue Renaultsport Clio 182 with 66k on the clocks and full service history.

You name it pretty much everything mechanically has been changed.

New Spax RSX coilovers
New front and rear brakes and pads and fluid change
K Tec braided hoses front and rear
Cambelt and dephaser done 500 miles ago
K Tec solid top mounts
K Tec solid engine mounts
Polybushed gearbox mount
K Tec induction kit
4 NEW Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres
Scorpion exhaust and decat
OMP rear strut brace

I picked it up from near Wantage yesterday and have to say it as a joy to drive home, a solid feel with the suspension uprades but the damping not set too firm for a nice ride. The colour is really nice, it kind of flips/changes between a blue, green metallic. I gave it a wash tonight after the 120 mile trip yesterday, ok some minor marks here and there but overall for a car nearly 9 years its certainly weathered well. It's nice that it retains it's original looks but has the suspension upgrades.

I now await the verbal beatings :D :ashamed: :coffee:

A big thanks to Matt at Codered, a couple of weeks into ownership I had the ABS, ESP, SERV lights come on, then the STOP and low brake fluid light came on.... Oh and then the EML light :ashamed: :D

So armed with Renaults CLIP he tested the ABS system which pointed to a front sensor, both were tested on the multimeter but showed them to be ok. So he pulled the manifold heatshield out the way to check the ABS loom to find it laying on the manifold melted and fused together. The obvious reason for all the lights flagging up, so the plan is to use a loom from a 172 and swap it over. Fingers crossed CLIP will clear the lights and should stay off.

So for now the loom is clipped back onto the bulkhead in its right place and should be all sorted next weekend. Also Matt showed me how to use cruise control.... 47.8mpg on a motorway run back from Kent  I can't believe I've left it so long to use :D

Ph1 172 FTW. You can still get the Exalto's in 15". I got a set a few weeks back, and they've transformed the car!

That's some serious mpg Rickay. I did an eco run to Dorset and back last weekend, and I managed to eek it out to 46mpg, but that included sitting behind lorries at 56mph. And this week it's dropped straight back down into the 30's.

I keep saying I need to get my car over to Matt to look at a few things, but I never get round to it :ashamed:. On the flip side, my gearbox rumble seems to have almost gone  :scared:

I still love the colour of your car. Make sure you don't sell it before I've seen it in the flesh

I have a set of Michelin PS3s on, the bloke had them fitted just before I bought it, brilliant tyres. I dont know why the wire was laying there but the clutch cable was unclipped too and the heatshield in 2 pieces and not fixed back properly. Seems like they've done some work and not fitted anything back properly or in the wrong clip locations.

Its a great car and still love the colour especially in the sunlight

Thanks for the offer Pete, Matt has a phs2 172 being broken which has the section of ABS loom which hopefully should do the job :)

Another big thank you to Matt again, I took the clio down to Kent for the 2nd instalment of the melted wire job to get it all fixed. On further inspection it took out the ABS earth wire, the 2 wires that run to the brake fluid resevoir cap and the ABS sensor wires. They were all stripped back to the main harness connector on the ABS module. The same wires were disconnected off the donor 172 with the pins attached then all put back in the right place. All taped back into the loom and new plastic conduit fitted. A harder job than it sounds as you have to reach right behind the block to strip the tape off the loom.

A job well done from Matt, he likes to get involved when it comes to looms :D its all back in place like OE. CLIP connected to clear the stored faults and is now back to how it should be, no lights on the dash so its all ready for Sangliers

Once again top work by Matt :) :agree:
