Hi all. Trying to start the 5 but notice fuel is pissing out of the side of the carb, I presume diaphragm has split, so I order a new service kit, I replace the diaphragm which I can see has a little tear in it, put it all back together with new one. Try n start the car and the same is now happening? Fuel coming from side of carb?

Any info would be great. Is their a reason why it's split again?

Is your float stuck?
Could be causing the bowl to overfill and fuel to spill out?
Just a thought

Fuel line attached to wrong place haha

Think I am on the over flow. So shooting a shed load of fuel up it. And splitting diaphragm.

Doh

I made a boo boo last year with the fuel supply to the carb, i had a larger bore feed pipe than the fitting and in my amazing wisdom instead of sorting it properly i packed out the fitting on the carb with insulation tape:dearme:

it spat it off and sprayed fuel all over the engine, luckily for me the engine was cold, if it had of happened half a mile earlier it would have been very different :scared:

We live and learn:ashamed:
