Hi guys iv bought the soft peddle conversion but the new arm won't fit the bearing . Now do I cut the lugs of the bearing or grind to slats into the new peddle so it looks like the old Renault one? I am putting the Volvo clutch in. It seems obvious but I don't want to cut anything till someone says so..

Thanks guys I'm waiting todo this now so all help appreciated

Ideally you want the bearing that matches the longer fork. You got any pic's of the current bearing and fork pic's are so much easier than text

I can't upload as I only have the iPhone and my photobucket accounts locked me out.. I think it's the 172 arm.. So will the 172 bearing fit the Volvo clutch? Thanks

It all depends where the longer clutch arm came from. Volvo or a Renault 172 sport as the release bearing different.

I've just uploaded a pic to my pics could you have a look see what you think? If it is the 172 could I get one from my local and would it fit the Volvo plate and an r5 box?

The lugs on the bearing are about 4mm thick so I was thinking of grinding it into the arm would this be safe?

Problem solved I grew some balls and gride two grooves into it.. It's only pushing back and forward anyways.. Thanks guys fits a treat.. (I hope)

Don't panic. I ground mine off too to make it fit ;)
