Strange problem ignition related?

Guy i know has a strange problem. He had a new engine build with a piper 270 and the engine goes well trough the revs when the vacuum is not connected. When the vacuum is on the renix it stalls at a certain revpoint and has trouble pulling further. On another car the renix works normall and has no trouble revving. Could it be the timing is one tooth out?

ur distributer gear might be out...maybe the spark has to jump too far!!

Had the same idea. Would that also explain that it runs fine with the vac hose disconected?

possibly? try and see...or at least check

you will need to get the engine at tdc, and see if the rotor arm is pointing at the peg in the dizzy cap.... if not, adjust the whole dizzy slightly.
