View Full Version : My efi conversion questions
i'm not chasing figures on this i just want a nice responsive daily driver
if i want something insanely quick i'll buy gtr, i love my five and want to enjoy it1
the spec is,
standard engine, 330cc injectors @ 3bar maxing @ 4bar
t2 maybe a t25/28 turbo i havent decided which one i'm going to use! what are peoples thoughts?
the standard exhaust manifold, i dont know if it would be best for a tubular or port match the standard jobbie
a micheal t injection manifold
my immediate questions are,
what flow rate on the fuel pump should i be looking at? 150, 200, 250 LPH?
what size outlet is on the fuel tank?
tubular manifold or not ?
t2 or t25/28

the standard exhaust manifold, i dont know if it would be best for a tubular or port match the standard jobbie Stantard manifold will be fine, port match won't hurt it.
a micheal t injection manifold Good choice, great bits of kit
my immediate questions are,
what flow rate on the fuel pump should i be looking at? 150, 200, 250 LPH? Standard efi fuel pump from anything will be fine.
what size outlet is on the fuel tank? 8mm, which is fine
tubular manifold or not ? Not, unless you pay out alot of money and get a decent one made up, although I think they all crack eventually.
t2 or t25/28
Hope that helps

Burton power have a 135 pump there?
not sure on flow rates but I'd of thought any external fuel pump form a turbo car would be up to the job.
I've been using a knock off Bosch 044 for a year or so now but am going to be fitting a genuine one this year. They seem to sell for around £130 and will flow far more than what a c1j could ever consume.
just my thoughts on a fuel pump is a 044 is used on the like of 450 500bhp gtst's
so would be a tad overkill on a 1.4 pushing 200?

A standard cossie one will be fine, no need for an expensive 044.. O and I wouldn't got to buttons as they'll rip you of big style.. Local motor factors is your best bet, even gf's as we get a discount, though they may not do a cossie one..
gsf have a cossie one for £51 you then need to buy a £7 kit off ebay for the banjo and cap nut. job done.
and here is another gripe, a cossie what? escort, sierra, e190?
