Hi, finally got myself on here! I'm from Essex / Cambridge area. Just finished my 5 after nearly 2 years of restoration :) happy ****ing days!

Shall get some pics up soon! I live in saffron walden, so ten mins from stanstead. I literally haven't seen another 5 on the road around hear for 5 6 years! Got a mate in cambs with one too

Yeah sounds good man, what have you got left to do?

Have done a rebuild on the engine. But having troubles getting oil to the turbo. Not getting any oil pressure atm so can't start it up.

What have you done to yours?

Ah typical old renaults! I've got loads of spares if you need anything. Complete nut and bolt / re-shell to original spec apart from polysport anti roll bar rubbers and tyres. I will get some pics up in the week :)

i live in abington mate, ten mins away. I did my apprenticeship at treadfirsirsn walden... Used my black phase2 as a daily for a year about 4years ago. (left after getting qualified though so been working in cambridge last 3years). Also there was a red phase2 going round at the same time, and gidneys had one rotting away outside there unit

Haha never saw it man! I must have gone around with my eyes shut:ashamed: there used to be a red one in a near by village elsenham which I saw driving once and I did see a radar or blue coloured project up at Carr and bircher, Newport. I'm amazed at how close you guys are.

I'm so amazed that there are a few around here! One in elsenham was standard looking, steel wheels and completely stripped out inside. Just sat outside someone's house for a year or so

Just to throw it in the mix I'm not too far from Cambridge either I'm in a small village called isleham ;) be good to sort out some meets in summer. I have done a coastal meet before starting in kings Lynn and running on some nice roads along the coast stopping for some sights and food. Then end up in Yarmouth for the night :) but to start would do some Cambridge meets so we can all get to know each other and check some cars out :D be good to catch up with some old members and meet some new ones.

Didn't realise all the 5's so close to me, we could deffinatley have some good meets this year, the curry we had in Cambridge was also a good turn out at xmas time

Thankyou for all the positive feedback guys, very much appreciated :)
I'm right up for some local meets this summer and have a look at some nice cars (if the summer actually turns up)
Yes it was a full respray in Renault 5 black, new inner & outer seals you know the story. I done it myself with professional help. Shall get a thread going so you can see what's been done. Underside is as clean as the outside of the car but I should imagine that won't last long.
So buzzing when the weather is dry for a spin
