Okay mate. Good stuff. This list is literally to make sure that there is interest. As before we will accept returns on them if people are not happy with the quality.

Maybe the club may have an interest and stock them?

Apologies TC :D

Funny as I saw Goher's old car (which I think is the one on the Azevs) about 5mins later when browsing other threads, lol.

Got to say you boys have done a flippin' ace job by the looks of it. Great stuff.

As many of you may have read I have been approached to stock the copy Decals that are being produced by Topcat and R5 Scotty.

What this means is I am fronting the money to get the stock. The people on the list will be given first dids on them and at the agreed price. I am planning on collecting the Decals the middle of next week.

So if you are on the list can you please send payment to:-

gtturbospares@gmail.com

Over the weekend confirming your Full name and address. So I can start the ball rolling. If I don’t receive payment they will be offered to others.

If all runs smoothly this will mean Topcat and R5 Scotty can concentrate efforts on producing the other colours. If we are let down buy non-paying members this will not happen.

RTOC members will be looked after but there will be an extra charge added for non-members. This might encourage more new members!!!

Many thanks Mike

Think Mike is saying that forget the lists of ten etc, he is going to front the cost of getting more sets made and then stock them.
Red and others colours too eventually, by the sounds of it :)

Went a collected Tungsten Decals from Dave over the weekend so they are now in stock and ready to go at £110 to RTOC members inc delivery to Mainland UK. The people on the list have first dibs there after any RTOC member. If RTOC members don't pay up I will ofer then elsewhere to cover costs. Dave and Scotty are close to finishing the Red ones.

If this goes to plan they will start work on the other colours but need people on the lists to pay up.

You have got to give it time mate these things don't happen over night. Alot of effort has gone into getting these right, davo and Scotty didn't have to put all this effort in, there helping the club out no end by producing these reps. If you look at the red decal thread mike is keeping it updated with the progress on them and I know that he will sort everyone out on the list with decals. Credit where credit is due pal

We're in the process of finishing off the red decals (slow progress due to the chap who does them being on holiday for 10 days).

It really is a slow drawn out process fella, it took 3 months to do the grey decals and that was with a original renault grey decal as a sample and a tungy car to fit them on as a sample.

I can assure you all of us are working hard to get these red ones done. So we can move onto the next decal sets.

I believe the red sets should be sorted by early next week- as soon as they are done I imagine mike will be asking us to develop the black ones.

Patience is a virtue chap. I know it's frustrating waiting for your ones to be ready, we can only do one set at a time.

Alternatively, mike has grey decals on the shelf, the only difference between them and the ones for the black car is the shade of grey is a bit lighter. Could be worth considering :agree:

Given the graft so far, its 100% worth waiting for proper black varients pal..

Perhaps I should be a little more clear, cannot praise you guys enough for the effort, if only you could do gear knobs ha.. !

It's just Mike I'm a bit cheesed at, why take over everything decent, the wanted thread may as well be a direct feed to mikes inbox, no one gets a chance to sell anything anymore. Seeing countless 5's being murdered for cash, a dying breed..

In mikes defence I was at his yard on Sunday, there was 20 5's and a Renault 11.
The ones that were being broken were completely ruined and pretty much no chance of survival.

The ones that were being saved in my opinion were also no good but he's saving them and they are not being broken up.
Most of his spares come with the cars he buys up.

Mike took over the decals mate due to me and Scott not having the time to post out to everyone 1 at a time, the packaging and posting the first batch took us ages & due to work commitments Scott and i didn't have the time. We approached Mike (he didnt approach us) as we thought he could buy in bulk and make it easier and quicker for members to buy, thus making different colour decals available quicker.

To be honest matey if it wasn't for mike the red decals wouldn't even be getting made,
It's only because he's guaranteed to buy the 10 sets (the minimum i can get printed per go)
That the red sets are happening.

Mike's business has a huge knock-on benefit for the members of this club (and non-RTOC owners of GTT's).

Parts for the GTT are becoming harder and harder to source. They are scattered to the four corners of Europe and his business centralises a lot of what is still available out there. He stocks no end of new/reconditioned parts some that have previously been reported on RTOC as 'no longer available' and the ever-ready stock of 2nd hand parts has been invaluable for a lot of member rebuilds (and for the recycling of otherwise scrap parts).

I say thank goodness it makes business sense for him to continue, the benefit of having spares available at reasonable prices and the part that plays in keeping GTT ownership in the UK a viable proposition, is priceless.

Fitting.
Any one fitted these yet and care to jot down a few notes for me please. :)
Arches off?
Fold around doors?
Trim ,cut. ?
Fade from top to bottom. Etc

I'll start off.

1. Don't attempt to fit yourself hungover in a Gail. You will ruin one.
2. Find a decal fitting shop in your area.
3.. ........

Thank you

Yes they do mate, as standard anyway

TopCat
16-06-2013, 19:35
Yeah they do- reason being is the ones from renault actually fall short of covering the door. So we made them longer (as I wanted my door completely covered).

This way you have a choice, cut them and fold them around the door or cut them short like renault.

If your question on differences is genuine, perhaps the colours on the new ones appear slightly richer all over than the originals? Or is it the angle/flash of the camera, or perhaps the age of the originals?! In any case, who cares, they are awesome :)

If you think how long those Renault stickers have been sitting around though within Renault, a lot of them will be tatty and more than likely wont stick proper or peel off nicely off the backing.

Also from pictures of last group buy from Raj compared to these, the quality is so much closer to original with the fad pattern and for that reason then price will have to be higher as it was needed to use a different print technique to get it this close.

What does the price of OE decals in 2007 have to do with how much bespoke versions are in 2013? Weren't the OE ones over £200 last year? Wouldn't that be a more useful measure?

In any case, the vagaries of price v supply/demand are irrelevant, the point is, people agreed to buy them at the stated price, and have since pulled out, or so it would appear based on the posts above.

Like we said before mate- no ones holding guns to heads to buy them. Last time we checked at Renault the were over £200. You can buy a set of originals off eBay for £170 but they won't be in brand new condition.

6 years ago fuel was 89 pence a litre.

People were told of the price before committing to buy. That price is delivered as well- Royal Mail special delivery is £8. Plus the money for packaging, plus the time of me, Scott or mike packaging them and going to the post office.

Bargain if you ask me :)

What was the difference between the original price of these new decals through TC and the price they are now sold at through Mike? I had thought it was minimal?

If it's about people putting their names down for something before the price has been set, and then pulling out when they realise the price is too much for them, then as long as it's done at the very first indication of what that price is going to be, then fine. Otherwise I'd put my name down for buying a new Faberge egg, then wait until they've spent all the time, money and effort in producing it and then pull out because it's eight million quid and I think it's too much for me.

I didn't say you shouldn't give your 2p's worth, I'm just asking that you clarify that it's value is in fact 2 pence. :agree:

EDIT: Interesting to note that if you were to buy an OE decal set from Renault in 2007 at £75 plus say £10 delivery, that comes to exactly £100 in today's money...

Thanks mate- everybody who has bought a set has been more than happy. :agree:

To people with their arse in their hand about these being offered to the club shop- They were offered back in the Summer & the club politely turned down the offer as the club had spent available funds on the national day.

So, We approached Mike @ gt turbo spares, who agreed to front up the money for the grey and red car decals, Mike is the reason the decals for the red car were produced, if it wasn't for him none would have been made.

People's points of view are always listened to of course, but there are ways and means of going about doing this (a private message to myself, Scott or Mike would have been more prudent) I took the negative comments personally because Scott and I spent 50+ hours & numerous car journeys after working hours to getting these decals developed. I don't mind critique, but to be honest, if we knew the sh*t that came With doing these decals we wouldn't even entertain doing it for the masses again.

We donated 20 gearknob stickers to the club shop to help raise funds for it too.

Don't mind at all mate, your graphics were of an amazing quality and look the business. If you can still get some from Mike Va Va Voom, then snap them up. They are a bargain at half the price of OE ones.

Such a shame that people complained about the production of these, because it really was a great deal for RTOC members and a deal that so many more people could have benefited from.

I would also like to say that if the lads hadn't done this for the members, I still wouldn't have graphics on my car. So I really am grateful.
