Engine Fail Thread

Was round my brothers house Sunday pulling the engine out of his Alfa 147 after it let go in a cloud of smoke and metal (it's an Alfa, what else could've happened?) once I saw the damage I took a pic an thought this could be a good thread, everyone posts up pics of the worse engine fails the've worked on or had.

This is what brother did to the 2ltr twin spark, con rod snapped, punch hole in rear of block and sump, punched in front of block high up and the came off the crank leaving a big hole in the front of the block and sump taking out the oil filter mount on its way out.

Only last year I managed to destroy my old c1J with a combination of low oil and a manky oil pump.
This led to a conrod trying to escape through the front of the block which took a chunk of the crank, smashed a piston and a liner on its way out :laugh:

Had a really good rebate last year and bought the missus a mito 1.5 turbo sprint when the 12 plate came out (always wanted one). Really good once you put the car into dynamic its very responsive, handlings better than the 5 hands down (electronic dampers).
But to be fair the lump looks like noddy and friends built it out of lego, looked on the tinterweb and there are aftermarket upgrades of +40-80brake with re mapping. Potentially a future nightmare for someone!
