So ever since ive had my 5 the exhaust has been blowing. I know it used to have a side exit when my mate had it but when I bought it it had what looked like a standard system.

The guy i got it off said it failed the MOT with the side exit so he just paid the garage to fix it.

So today i decied to get it sorted. I took out the mid section to find it has been very poorly welded to a larger stainless steel pipe.

The car also has an uprated downpipe. But it deosnt sit anywhere near the bracket thats there to support it. I know I dont really need it but id like it to fit. Is there any other big downpipes that will fit like OEM?

So I think instead of trying to botch up the exsisting exhaust I think il just fit a full Stainless system, turbo back. Can you guys reccommend a good one for me. Im not going for massive power but slightly uprated.

And finally last thing for today I think,

Any ideas what this is? And why wound it be disconnected?

Thanks in advance

That green thing is a resistor for the anti perk fan? That brown wire attaches to it. You don't need it :)

My anti perc fan still works with this disconnected? Is that normal?

Its a surpressor. For what it is I would keep it on.
