I dont know anything about the car i was looking at it the other nite i love the dimmas it doesnt look too bad but you would definatly need to go see it and check for rot before you bid on it
That's a nice motor I have a soft spot for them like that old one, was it black magic?
Anyway picture attached is Bruce's old one
Yeah I agree mate, the kit can certainly hide a few horrors! However its quite a long journey for me.
If I could get it for £1500ish I would not really mind taking a punt on it!
yea it doesn't look too bad on the pictures but its the bits you cant see thats the problem. are you thinking of restoring it and so on ?
Rob I'd seriously look before you buy, look at my past project like my white one, it looked sound but the rust was so extensive. 3.5k in body work....(including the spray) so figure from that. I'd like to know condition under parts of the kit.
Have a day trip to see it :)
Be good to see you back on the club with a project :)
Thats it JRP black magic with 3 spokes i love 3 spokes on a dimmer:smokin:
Very pretty motor :) back on topic lol :hump::hump::hump::hump::hump:
Rob so you any members local to the car? That might have a look for you?

I loved that car. Black magic
I saw a nice blue dimma the other week on a Ikea car park looked cracking wonder if its anybody's on here http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w406/hickman26/7582946C-AF98-4195-BB18-BD69E9F27AF6-369-0000002E27542FA4_zps1bfe4d0c.jpg
Thats a Prima kit, not a Dimma. I dont think i've seen a true Dimma for sale for ages. They are usually advertised as one, but they are not.lol
I was thinking about restoring it but with the comments about 3.5k body work costs and the fact it's not a real Dimma have put me off! I can never tell the difference between the Dimma, prima or skeet kits.
If I can talk the wife to be into letting me part with a bit more money, I would prefer to buy a really good example from a good old trusted member on here.

Normally buying via a member (trusted one) you won't go wrong.

No been in OZ a few years now I still help with the parts for it. ;)
as i have a skeete wide arch 5, i can tell you first hand that the cills are exposed on the car, so having a look underneath ,and have a prod/feel will soon find any rust, the wings are grp and again leave a fair amount of space around inner flitches so to speak quite easy to find rust, if there is any present:)
Out of curiosity, does anyone know how the electronic adjustable boost will work?? Is an electrical one even possible on the classic original set up?

that 5 was on ebay last year for quite a while, for about 5k or something silly, think it was a garage selling it from a part ex.

It just uses a solonoid to control the boost level

Swap over bonnet and put some car mats in, doesn't that normally cost £3k to do?

I did get the previous seller to put pics up of the engine. It had an alloy intercooler, not a front mount. Unfortunately I could not see the Turbo.
Its probably 140bhp - 150bhp at a push.
