Can I check for boost leaks using one of the outlets on the carb top?Fueling is for 18psi so I pressurize the system to 20psi,will I be able to hear the leaks.

Someone once said using washing up
liquid so you can see the bubbles. I guess make a solution and put it on your hoses then pressure the system

Same way you test for gas leaks on joints, except with leak detection fluid as fairy and the like is corrosive to metals.

Yes that will work fine. You will need to take the airfilter off and block the hose up.

Right,I have just put the actuator under pressure insitu and it opened at 22psi.My boost gauge plumbed into the aei line reads 14/16psi and my oe gauge goes to about 3/4 which is what?about 12/13 carb top?Could it be I have gone a bit too far on the preload and leaks started to appear above 18psi.I say this cos it was fine at 18 but a little rich so I give it a touch more preload and the boost dropped.I have now adjusted the actuator under pressure and with minimum preload 4/5mm it opens at 18lb.Bit I don't understand is that it holds the boost it makes.:confused:

Have you pressure tested the full system for leaks? If there are no leaks the actuator is weak?

Had a quick attempt today and no leaks were herd but need to do it properly tomorrow. If the actuator wa week would it not have opened before the set boost.:confused:

Right guys bit of help please,tried to check for leaks today using a compressor,found a couple of small ones but I'm not sure if the system should pressurize similar to a Tyre inflating or wether you are just constantly passing air through the system,in my case the system would not hold air and as soon as the air supply stopped the gauge went to 0psi.

By putting this over the compressor housing and then connecting the compressor to this.Iv got an extra gauge that runs inline in-between this and the compressor.Open the air line to a steady 20 psi.

I wonder if the intake on the turbo wasn't sealed properly.Actuator is set to open at 20lb and I'm seeing 16lb boost, is this an acceptable loss.

Its a nightmare take boost pipe off carb elbow and blank it then see if it holds pressure maybe

Forgot to try this today(numpty).I did try to pressurize again but could only get 2psi,anyway time to stop ****ing about looking for something:mad: that's not there.

What did you use to cap off the pipe? Need to do a leak test soon, cheers bud.
