View Full Version : Fuel Leak on carb?

Hey guys,

I have a couple of images here of the state of the carb and inlet manifold on my 5. I am kinda worried that the carb is flooding and that petrol is creeping out of the carb onto the inlet manifold.

From the images do you guys agree? Think its probably a stuck float or something?

Looks like your carb top gasket is leaking, I would be renewing that mate

Ahh ok, I did use a carb overhaul kit on it mid last year but maybe that wasnt in the set to replace.

It should of been in the kit, its the big rectangular black one

Just looking in the pic, is that a crack above the acc pump jet lever? Looks like its in the body of the carb

I would have replaced it then if it was in the kit...

I have spare carbs in bits all over the place, your welcome to bits for free, just tell me the bit :)

Yeah I guess it must be, I do also need to sort out a top piece too as one of the 3 bolt mount points that hold the lobster on have also cracked. (I remember that happening when I was doing the carb overhaul).

I do live real close to CGB Motorsport though tbh, I just don't know how much Bob would want for those parts.
