Hi, bought a couple of r5 oil filters. Have gone to fit one but the one I have taken of is a lot smaller then the ones I have bought? I am running an oil cooler so is this why?
If so can someone please point me in the rite direction?

The correct one is the smaller type oil filter. Use the genuine renault filter.

The filter on the right hand side of your picture looks too tall, do you mean the original sandwich plate on the front of the block that the filter screws on that the oil cooler lines screw into?

Yes that's what I mean, when I screw the genuine filter on it feels like it over hangs it?

I've used plenty of different types Renault/Volvo/aftermarket which are various heights and widths. Unless space is an issue most are ok to use. Pop the rubber seal off the filter, if it sits right on the sandwich plate it will be fine.

I thought if you fit a small one it changes oil pressure.the renault 1 is correct above i always se renault filters

The one on the box is the correct one.
Don't fit a campus filter to a gtt. In some cases you can get a noticeable pressure drop. As myself and Brigsy found out !!! Knock knock knock

You can also get a Purflux filter from GSF which is exactly the same as the renault one sitting on the box in your picture with different markings that doesnt come in a renault box and costs about £5 as Purflux make them ;)
You got a gsf part number mate?
LS590 is the purflex number, not sure on what the GSF is

Should be 120RE0011 bud ;)
Last time i got one from gsf they supplied a mecaparts filter that was no good so be careful.
Purflux is in the Sogefi group which also supply Fram and Coopers Filters, which should be the same style with different label.

went back to the garage today, and took the seal out of the new one, lined it up and the seal just fits so im sure they will be ok,
must be the oil cooler plate that's smaller?
