View Full Version : Uprated brakes ?
Thinking about getting some better brakes but not sure wether to go for some 4 pot will woods or 406 brembos ? Which is better, cheaper, easier fitment are there any other options?
Won't upgrading the standard oe brakes be better as they decent enough as they are IMO.
Unless your tracking it of course
Still my everyday car but was gunna do a few track days
Get a decent set of pads on there ;)
Are 4 pots not worth it then and what pads would u suggest?
Try uprated pads with braided lines first then if you're still not happy go with 4 pots
Try ferodo ds2500 pads :)
remember to run them in :)

The Ferodos need heat to work properly. Good pad though:agree:
Track or road use?
Standard everything and DS2500 pads. No fade at all even on track :agree:
Mainly road use. Ok ill giv those pads ago and get sme braided lines
Ds2500 just on the fronts or all round ?
Just the front, leave the back totally standard :agree:

Be carefull......I use these on my cup car which I race. When they are cold, there is nothing, my foot goes to the floor!! Once they have heat, they are superb.
I wouldnt use these on the road.
Oh really how long do they take to warm up ? Wats he best pad for road use ?

iv had some ds2500's in my megane and there fine from cold - might be a different case for the 5?
For a upgrade over oe I would say like above ds2500's up front, better fluid or it will boil on track and braided lines wont hurt, thatl be a nice setup
No issues with my DS2500 pads at any temp :agree: brake fluid wise I haven't had to upgrade at all, just replace with fresh DOT 4 stuff.
Never had any issues with DS2500s from cold, they're a good pad for both occasional tracks and mainly road use. I had them on the clio and were spot on.
First job I'd do along with pads is fresh brake fluid
also no problems with the ds2500 front and ds 2500 at the rear .
together with the big brake conversion and braided hoses .
brakes like ..
with minimal brake pedal movement

I run DS2500 pads on my Evo, and I've never had a problem from cold either
Same here they are good from cold. I also found yellow stuff to be good to.
Anyone know if the Clio 1.8 16v and/or Williams Rear disc's will fit on a 5 GTT? I know you can buy non ABS ones and also the fronts are a direct fit if you change the front cailper carriers brackets, but do the rears fit aswell? thanks. :)
