Hey guys,

Was looking about at the 5's on this premium car sales website I found.

And noticed this:

Looks like a 5 GT Turbo with the air conditioning that the japanese got. Pretty nice condition too and 8000 Euro's... Hmm..

I almost bought a 5 (non turbo) years ago that had a/c and p/s, with the intention of sticking it in my old gtt. It never happened though.

Ha I wouldn't drive that car. That air con pipe over the turbo is a fire hazard waiting to happen.

I'm guessing it's been ok for 82,000km :D

I'm interested in the extra electrical connections fixed to the N/S strut tower and the vacuum canisters behind the carb. Are they part of the aircon circuit or could it be a form of vacuum operated cruise control?

I guess that's the air con controls in between the window and central locking switches ?

King Lead also seems to go to an aei unit drivers side of the carb

Looks pretty sweet. I wouldnt worry too much about the aircon pipe aslong as the original heatshield was in place. Is that a carbon canister behind the carb?? Its all a bit busy in the bay with the extra bits though!

Even more reason why I wouldn't step in there (old pipes now) highly flammable refrigerant passing over a red hot turbo- noice!!

But Feel free to go for a cruise mate- I'm not stopping ya ;)

As brigsy says it would be okay if the heat shield is there- but it's still not a job I'd be proud to put my name to.

It wouldn't take much to re route that pipe work to make it look mint.

:agree:the air con pipes are pretty sold anyway,id be very suprised if that would touch the turbo at all,rem the king lead runs above the turbo as well, the heat sheild dose work realey well keeping the heat away.nice find ...i was nearley in trouble when the perc fan wire landed on top of the turbo as the 2nd sensor wasnt there :crap:

the japs drive on the left of the road , why upgrade a car with the steering wheel on the wrong side for the market, when renault make loads of right hand drive cars for the UK and other commonwealth markets?
