Hello,

I have a problem with starting the car. Some times when turning the key it sounds like the starter spins but not the engine. After trying a few times it start... Iam thinking, starter motors sprockets are a bit worn/broken and it spins, or the flywheel sprockets are worn/broken... Anyone had the similar problem?

Starter motors are a very common fault.

I was going to write, check the wiring to the starter but after reading your post properly, it sounds like the starter is not engaging. When you turn the key, the starter moved forward onto the flywheel and spins it. I recon this is your problem.

Not sure if you can check the teeth without removing it?

I kind of hope that the starter is a problem, becous if the teeths on the flywheel are broken thats some more work and when the gearbox is out I should change the clutch and...

This five are... fun :)

Is it comon for the five broke teeth on flywheel or starter?

The ring gear is pretty tough, id say the starter is at fault. You could check the ring gear by cranking the engine over by hand and looking down the tdc sensor hole in the gearbox.

:agree: generally the starter gear is softer than the flywheel and wears first, sounds like the solenoid on the starters dieing and not throwing the gear out in to the flywheel. If it is grinding the flywheel before engaging then best to sort sooner rather than later or it will wear the flywheel.
