Hi guys.

As per comments on a current thread, I've offered to help out with the organising of the smaller club events.

As such I've contacted Santa Pod this morning to see if we can arrange a club stand for this years retro show.

I've been to every one of these since the first one where I used to help out organising the stand for the retro car club.

It's a great event with plenty of random automotive oddness to entertain all tastes.

Quarter mile: all day open pit lane with unlimited runs

Handling circuit: free to use timed circuit. Great fun and quite addictive

Drift demo and rides: small fee for passenger rides in a variety of drift cars

If you're interested then get you're name down.

Ill update this as and when I hear back from Santa Pod.

Please can you also say if you'd be interested in displaying your car on a club stand if one can be organised. This will be limited to 20-30 places and ideally I'd like to see some stand passes (maybe 5?) kept back for non 5 gt turbos.

Tickets to be bought prior to the event (the sooner, the better tbh). For that you'll save £3.50 on the price that Santa Pod can sell them to you for and you'll get a pass to have your car on the stand

I won't be up with the car plus its only really going to have a base map put on it so I can run the thing in for abit, will get it mapped at full boost at a later date

Haz runs the club shop now. I bought the tickets and they were sent to me as the address had to match the payment card.

Regarding tickets:
They arrived from Pod a couple of days ago but not the passes. I complained and they said they can only send those a few weeks before the event.

That means quite a bit more work for us. So I thought of keeping an address label ready for each 'Club Stand' pass request, that'll save making a list and a lot of time.

I'll be sending out the 15 tickets for the 10 buyers perhaps tomorrow.

I just ordered my Ticket but made a cock up, I didn't ask for a pass for the stand. Are you able to send me one with my ticket?

Just so you know I will have 2 vehicles, i'll be towing my 5 with the work van so need space for both
If its prob its ok can park somewhere else

should be fine you by his from us aswell mate and i mite be wrong but i think you can be on the stand and go do some runs and then come back and put your car on stand but ross will know better than me mate:agree:

Really that would need three passes; the van and two 5's. Or four passes to park a trailer there as well.

I guess this kind of issue will depend on whether spaces are left on the day.

So far 25 tickets and 17 passes have sold. 40 tickets and passes are booked. Seems that we can't have passes without matching number of tickets, if this is so then it looks like there will be some spare passes.

I'll be making a call later today to see if we can work a deal with Santa Pod to get some more tickets in the shop. We wont be getting any more stand passes though as our stand will be maxed out with the first batch of 40 passes.

Fear not logg. I don't think everyone that bought a ticket took on a stand pass too. Some people that bought a ticket for them and a passenger will only need one pass so there will be some left over.

Are the club getting any more stand passes?We have 17 spare passes at the moment as some people I think didn't realise they needed to request one which could be a problem on the day.

But 10 people bought two tickets so may be coming two in one car so they'll be genuine spares.

Small update:

I've just spoken with Santa Pod with a view to expanding our club stand to accomodate 50 cars from the 40 spaces we currently have. This will mean that we will have to purchase a further 10 tickets, so all being well, we should hopefully have some more tickets in the club shop shortly.

Just after a rough idea of how many people are left out there that would like a ticket at our special 'club rate' of £13.50 to full members, which also includes a stand pass for your Renault should you wish.

i've just heard the rnlaf base excercise that was plannend the week before is cancelled. however everything is uncertain at the rnlaf :crap:

would really love to attend to this meeting being my first rtoc meeting and a great uk weekender. would love to have a place at the club stand but i really am too unsure wether i can attend or not to buy the ticket already :(

although 13,5 isn't that much i want to know for sure as i don't want to take anyone elses place if i'm not able to attend ;)

46 ticket buyers, 14 buyers ordering two. 60 tickets sold.

45 passes requested out of 60 passes allocated to us.

So, unless some more the the people that ordered two tickets wanted two passes, there'll be some spare passes that could go to those buying on the gate.

I could add some extra tickets to the shop so you could buy them from there. To save international postage I could send them to one person in France?

If you intend to camp at Pod on Saturday, then you'll need to buy a Saturday ticket from them on the gate. Seems that's another £13 extra on the gate when you show your Sunday entry ticket.

Maybe I can also buy two Sat tickets for you when I make the next purchase? You'll have to pay RTOC in advance though.

Or Postage to France via Royal Mail Airsure to one person is about £10, most of that will already be covered by the amount we built in to the ticket price in the RTOC shop.

Dan, and others who want to camp at Pod on Sat night.

I just phoned them and was told the advance purchase price for the weekend is £20 (plus booking fee and postage) instead of £25 at the gate.

So to buy a (RTOC members) Sunday ticket from RTOC shop is £13.50 (inc our PayPal fees, envelope and postage to you). + £13 at the gate on Sat is £26.50.

So we could probably do it for you for £21.50 delivered if you place your order before I next buy tickets.

There could be a slight problem if a lot of people who've already bought a Sunday ticket now want a weekend one. I might be able to work is so that we swap your weekend tickets for Sunday ones I haven't bought yet, but not past the point where we run out of new Sunday ticket buyers. And it would mean you sending your Sunday ticket at your expense to a new buyer and some emails with me included to confirm that was received.

Nice one. I'm unsure of my plan yet but I reckon blyton Friday night travel to pod late Saturday afternoon and camp as I think there is a concert or summit happening on The eve ??

Santa pod have told us that it will be "nearer the event" for the stand passes. I should expect that we will receive them in a week or twos time.

Also do you park next to your tent or is the parking separate?

Is there anyone travelling up Sunday or is getting there early evening sat better?

One more thing, will the rwyb be super busy and best used on the Saturday or will you still get in enough runs on the Sunday?

Ill be hiring a trailer as I don't trust the 5 yet, I take it Theres plenty of space there.

This is one more, if you put your car on the stand can you still do rwyb when you want?

Is it too late to get a club pass for this eventWe have about 15 club passes.

They were free to the RTOC so we got extra but we'd lose the money on unsold tickets.

About three people are bringing trailers so that will, in effect, take up three to six of those parking spaces.
