could any of you tell me what other electrical systems use the same circuit as the Stereo ? the fuse keeps blowing even with the head unit removed from the car. I did notice that the clock /temp unit is not lighting up unless the lights are on, could this be at fault?

I noticed that the clock was not displaying unless the lights were on and the stereo would not fire up, checked the fuse and its popped, whacked the volt meter on the wireing loom to the stereo ,on the yellow wire and there is no power to it when ignition is on or off , red is 12V all the time.
Replaced the fuse and it popped right away with nothing connected to the loom for the stereo. Guessing the clock unit is at fault?

Anyone confirm?

I had the same issue on my 5 (running a Phase 1 172 dash). Yes the same live feeds the clock / radio display. In the end I just cut the original wire that feeds both units and ran a new switch live to it as I couldn't work out why the fuse kept blowing, put it down to my dodgy wiring.
