i think the sport comes in a 1.8 i-vtec manual and also i-shift which must be some sort of quickshift? also come in 2.2 i-ctdi.

i dont know anything about the new ones, but the old models seemed to perform well, my bro has a 95 shape civic vti with a few mods and it goes like stink, there not as quick to accellerate as a gtt but they most definately will out run them at high rpm.
ive drove my bros a few times and have got to say i really like the power.

i dont know anything about them apart from the magic vtec
engines they have .
i also annoyed one of these shape ones a few weeks back on the same road .

now my engine is nothing more than a healthy standard f7p
and i am starting to think this is more than driver error etc
both cars rolling ,we boot it and i am pulling away all the way .
may be they are just too heavy ??

either way :smokin: :coffee:

yes mate, they are heavy.

my bros vti had a play with the above shape type-r and the type-r wasnt going anywhere fast.

the civics have to be screaming their nuts off to get anywhere quickly, they happily rev up to 9k thanks to the v-tec set up, i think their power band is between 6 to 9k so the drivers gotta get there and stay there rev wise otherwise it's just a everyday driving car

I've got an EP3 Civic Type R (like that in the photo above) as a daily driver and its a really nice, solid, fast car.

My Raider is running at 14psi and it feels nowhere near as fast as the Civic. As mentioned, in the Civic you've got to rev it high to get it really moving and this is something a lot of the drivers dont seem to be able to do. :coffee:

I have done quite a lot of work on an ep3 type r to get it to 230hp @ flywheel and i have to say it feels pretty slow, also handling wasn't up to much as you can really feel the height and weight of the roof affecting the balance, had 4 wheel alignment done after i fitted tein coilovers and the factory set-up was awfull, + camber on o/s frontm, - camber o/s front and different amount of + on both rear!!!! shocking! and i have heard of loads from Honda that have been the same or worse, Hondas tolerances are massive!
