should be smooth we had a groove on ours that leaked so had it spray welded

the rubber seal did that!!just reposition the crank seal.....little bit more in or out

:agree: it will be fine, mine was worse, they allways do that, as said just move the seal slightly out or in. then 100,000 miles later you'll have 2 nice rings :D
