Hi Ian

You missed the large block of blue text on the renewal page:

If you are an ex-member that has just expired (because you didn't renew before your membership expired) then please contact memberships@rtoc.org, or use the contact page to supply us with proof of past membership (Name, address, aprox join date) and we will arrange it so that you only pay the renewal fee.

Alternatively a post in the membership request forum would have done it. The site has no way of allowing expired members to rejoin at £10. The membership sec would have added a few days to your last years membership which ment you would have had the option to renew.

There should also have been a banner across the forum pages saying that it was important to renew before a specific date. I think it starts to show 30 days before the date is up so you might not have been online in that time ?

I think someone will need to refund you the £15 now.

10 if you renew within the time allocated ( 30 days notice given when you log on ) 25 if you aren't paying attention :p
Seems fair to me but DVLA say no ...sorry ..it's your error ,not ours :coffee:

tbh it was over a year ago and I had completely forgotten about it until seeing this thread. I did however remember to renew in time this year :)

I think you'll probably need to ask them Ian. You can't expect them to trawl the forums looking for stuff like this mate :)

Sorry, if you've already paid it's £25.

I must say it would make my life easier if we just have 1 price for all, be it £10 or £15 for the year. The amount of people who either completely fail to see the big renewal link is surprising. I also have people email in asking to renew for £10 when they haven't been near the site in years

If thats the new rule Alex then someone will need to update the large block of blue text I quoted at the top of this thread. Add something to the effect that "if you choose to pay now, please be aware that we cannot offer a partial refund later" or something like that.
