i've done a search and couldn't come up with anything.

i've changed the dizzy cap and arm for new ones, i also earthed the resistor type thing by the aie and the other earth lead from there, onto the aie mount anfter cleaning it up.

Try a 2nd aei unit and make sure there is a feed and ground to it. It's the coil pack in there that makes the spark.

there is none near me, it was working when i took it out, which feed gives it juice and i can go from there?

Double check that you've seated the dizzy cap correctly and make sure the rotor arm is pushed down all the way :)

Clean the tdc sensor up and check the connection is good at the plug if ph2.

have u got no spark at all fella? make sure cap is in good condition and centre contact is ok, also try touching king lead on an earth when cranking.

Check the 3 pin plug on AEI, yellow is ignition feed, should be 12v, black is earth make sure it has continuity and pink (guess) is tacho output. does tacho twitch when cranking?

another thing, if engine has been out make sure engine earth is on back of block to bulkhead, on mine i added a couple of extra earth straps from gearbox to bulkhead too as you can never have too many :)

Check the relay near the AEI. Swap it with the horn one and you can then test ( audibly ) if the you get the horn ( snigger ) its not relay related. If you dont get the horn ( snigger again ) your relay is at fault.

white block on the AEI
yellow wire is + with ign on
black wire is earth.
third wire in the white block is rev counter info
if both are pressent and correct . test the pick up for about 200 ohms.(center black conector)

if all above is correct pull off king lead and crank if no spark then try another AEI of fit another coil pack to the AEI

some clues to look for if no spark once the above is checked. if you crank and the fuel pump kicks in then it's the coil . if no fuel pump it could be the AEI
:D

hopefully its not the aei as there is no one i can try swap it withor you could just connect standard coil off another car into your aei unit;)

Is the fuel pump running while cranking? If not check the Tec sensor and loom,

My first thought too, happened to me in the past. Great way to test it out btw. :agree:
