Hello, advice needed please, previous thread I spoke about turbo re build companies, anyway,
I've taken all pipe work off, unbolted down pipe from turbo, my problem is:
Exhaust manifold to turbo, the 4 nuts that hold it on, I've got 3 off perfectly, 4th however has rounded off and can't get it off love nor money,:sad2: would a power file/ hand held belt sander be ok to use to grind it off about half way and carefully tap it off, it's the 1 that's nearest to the tdc sensor underside of exhaust maniflod,if looking at it from p/s. any advice would be mustard please, regards Tom :)

Have you tried getting it cherry hot and sticking some mole grips on there. Or just cut the lot off and buy a new rod and couple of nuts?

Done the mole grips, brand new ones with unused jaws, no luck, just fires off and end up with smashed to s?&t knuckles, lol I reakon cutting it off may be my only option atm.:(

cut it off. if you cant get the stud out, then just use the 3 remaining studs and some exhaust paste.... works fine :)

Personally i use a gasket between the turbo and manifold, its easy to get carried away with exhaust paste. But cutting it off is probably your best bet its pretty awkward to slice the nut to crack it, easier to chop off.

Can ya not get a nut splitter on? Or a dremel drill ? Cut each side of the nut then split it off with a small chisel?

Are you sure you're turning it the right way? Feels like you're doing it up as the stud is facing away.
