The workshop is now closed for two weeks so i've taken over a small corner to get my finger out and put the car back together,

now its been over a year and 3 moves since i took it apart and in my project thread i was told some things are wrong.

i'll start with this, what should be here? this is on the driverside of the gear box above the driveshaft cup

second is the carb plumbing i've a single port actuator, and i've an avcr boost controller i've removed the anti perc setup too

so what goes where?

is this right?

The speedo sensor goes in the hole in the box, a l shaped clip and cap head blot hold it in place.

I found the best way to sort the vacuum hoses up was a hose straight off the compressor cover going to the fpr, and then from below the throttle plate one hose straight to the actuator, if you want to mess about with a boost controller tee it in to the previous mentioned hose. I it were mine i would sack the boost controller off and set it up at the actuator, I used to find spool was improved without a boost controller/ bleed valve. Setup this way problems are alot easier to trace as you only have two pipes, also if you want to run a boost gauge have that on its own pipe.

ok i have it back together the right way i think? but it refuses to take!
i'm getting spark fine and i know the earths are good ( i even added a few.)

problems i'm having are

fuel pump not running it will run off a battery.

my fuel, and oil gauges do not work, the oil one did work untill i cut off the perc fan wiring?

does this look right?

Is the tdc sensor connected, that would explain no fuel pump. It only runs when engine is cranking over/running.

Have you just rebuilt engine ok so get a cup and take fuel pipe off carb and run fuel pump for a few seconds and that way you definatly know pumps working

i did! i installed it like the good oul manual when fully seated the slot in the drive gear should be perpindicular to the block and the fat side on the right?

my starter **** its solenoid so i wont have that fixed till at least the 3rd!

i could ring you then?

Which piston did you time it off ie what side of the engine bay but yea give me a ring anytime you can check all of the pipes i had my dizzy drive timed wrong and i was getting spark and no fuel i had timed it off wrong piston lol 07582131816

I had the piston closest to the gearbox at tdc on the combustion stroke I think!

chris

Thats right also when you put dizzy drive in it roatates so you have to get it to stop on the mark do you know what i mean

Try to take! It it did however cough through the carb

chris

Yea sorry not trying to make out you didnt know what you where doin just running threw possibilities when they cough up carb i think thats timeing but could be wrong any chance it could be on wrong stroke i would definatly check pipe work again i dont mind running threw it with you some time
