Volvo V50 2.0D

Was just wondering if anyone knew anything about these cars, i.e reliable, horror stories, known problems. Toying with going turbo diesel and an estate would be ideal for work purposes. Mk5 Golf TDi is another option but obviously not an estate but only hear good things about VAG.

From what little I've read the V50 is a massive improvement on the V40, cheeky HLM remap brings it to 165bhp and 380nm.

Pretty much ford focus running gear. Not too bad as long as its got good history.

Cheers Matt, so you'd like to think the parts are ok on prices. Briefly reading up, if im right that the engines aren't Volvo but Volvo build them at their plant and use higher quality sealants, paste etc, attention to detail.

Looking at 54-05 plate with a top end of 4k to spend but hard to find sub 100k mileage, to be fair diesels on that year with low mileage is hard to find.

I thought they were good when they replaced the 40 series. Very comfortable interiors too.
