ive got some spare door pins here mate. Ill dig 'em out for you next time your over.

when i did mine i just got someone to hold the door up sqaure and brayed them out with a pin punch, not the most elegant way but it works. The pin punch wasn't right healthy afterwards thou

if ur using the tool then remove the checkstrap first.start the pin moving up or down with a punch first.if u cant shift it with the tool then drive it right through with a paralell punch but put a thin piece of steel between the pin and the inner panel so it does'nt dig-in.and most importantly have a 6mm pin with a small bend in it(L-shaped) so u can drop it in place to hold the door when u get the pin out!!

done them today, remove check strap 1st and its easier if you pull all the wires thru as much as you can so that you have room for plenty of swing on the hammer, knock em both up if possible, as the punch will foul on the door with top pin and the bottom pin wont come out of the bottom because of the shape of the door, squeeze the new roll pins on the point with some pliers or molegrips before inserting them, makes it easier. and enlist a friend to hold the door whilst your ****ting it, also cover anthing you dont want to hit with cloth etc so you dont damage the paintwork. mine came out quite easy as i lashed em in wd40 beforehand. dont forget there is alot of movement in the latch pin attached to the body of the car (try moving this 1st) good luck

7mm x 45mm pins. like you said the hinges had worn alittle but the new pins made things much better, Thought i would try 7mm pins before trying to drill them out to 8mm

The torx pin snapped so tryed tapping it and making a tool to get it out but ended up drilling it.The old bush had rusted onto the pin solid.

that guide only applies to later cars with the torx fittings. earlier cars use rolls pins :(

Correct even the haynes manual doesnt talk about the torq pins.

I was only saying to my mate about 10 minutes about doing mine at the weekend. I'm going to try oversized pins (maybe 7.5mm) before I ruin it all with a drill.
I'll try and remember to take some piccys of the roll pin change ;)

i drilled mine out on my door, worked an absolute treat, a bit awquard though. Then used pins from a corsa c i think it was, 8mm. Fitting new renault ones is usually a waste of time.

Yeah, I remember reading somewhere that it's recommended to fit bigger pins. Couldn't imagine doing it once, and then having to do it again..... actually. :scared:
