Wondering if anybody knows the measurement of the gap beetween the bumper and the crossmember? My cars 40 mile away. Haha.

You will need to chop it out to fit a decent size cooler mate ;)

Gotta say, chopping the cross member off this car is a bit of a crime against the o.e crew, that's for sure:laugh:

in all fairness tho, it's your car so if it doesn't bother you then get the angle grinder out!

don't do it infront of me tho I might

plenty of people chop em out, it obviously would provide more strength in a collision but as far as structurally goes I don't think it's required.

mine went ages ago and all I can really say is it feels exactly the same as before.

Just for smashing it up I'd say but in a tin box GT you're fcuked anyway after a certain speed!

I ment more for flex wise but i have looked everyone does it but alot put a brace bar in

Only way you will flex the car is if you hit something hard. It's not a massive part of the frame phils feels identical to mine. Mine has one. His doesn't.

I suppose the subframe holds square i was worried it could fail MOT or somthin cos thats all that ties the 2 halfs together on front

Depends what size cooler you go for mate, i any trimmed the lip off the cross member to fit mine and abit off back of bumper where fogs go, its tight like bit of time to do but worked out well for me rather than chopping the whole of the member out

The cooler I'm getting is massive. It's off Dave reed. Pickin it up next week or so.
