renault 5 ribbed pulley to vee pulley

Does any one know or has changed a alternator ribbed pulley for a vee pulley can this be done ? I have the vee pulley and spacer ,can it just be swaped over ?

I dare say it can be, suck it and see mate. If its for a later c series lump it will prob work

Be better to leave it with multi pk belt instead of the V pulley imo.

Cheers john , its on ebay saying its for a renault 5 and 11 ,with the right year of car etc some other models as well ,it comes. Fitted with the ribbed pulley.

If i could get a Ribbed pulley, alternator and water pump i'd switch to Ribbed! ;)

stu clark modded his c1j to run a poly vee belt and id guess added a bracket and tensioner into the mix, rather than tension off the alternatort..:)

I know hi5 glen changed his mate to stop his throwing the alt belt off mate remember scoff telling me

The later c series lumps have 3 or 5pk setups from memory, the water pumps are always on ebay dirt cheap....however you only need it on a lump thats going to be revving 8k+ on a regular basis. I rev mine right off the scale all the time and have never thrown a belt with the campus pulley setup.

:agree: everyday atleast 5 times over 7k :D threw one a few weeks ago but the belt was split frayed and old so was my own fault lol.
