Where is best to get 4 pot wilwood calipers for my 260mm by 22 disks?!

Going to hi spec next friday so they can price me a set of 4 pots. But to be honest I would prefer to fit 4 pot wilwoods

Think I'd need to have brakets made to fitncalipers.... Hence the initial attraction towards hi spec...

Hi spec are poo.... Well there not but heard a few bad things about them... But that was nearly 10 years ago.... But I don't forget haha.

Will woods are good, rally design is the place for them, but will have to get brackets made for your car as its most likely not listed.... Once again rally design can recommend companies to help out there...

I wonder of Peugeot 406 brembos and clio 172/182 280mm discs would fit?

What size wheels have you got? Also four or five stud?

If you go to 4 pots you need a decent sized master cylinder. I have Hi Specs few issues latest is that the pads are tight in the caliper and they recommended filing the paint of the ends of the back plates.

i've got hi-specs, never had an issue with them, only with the crappy EBC pads that are horrific for brown dust!

master cylinder wise you need a golf rallye one, direct fit but 21 or 23mm off top of my head, makes up for the extra capacity of the new front calipers :agree:

Thats some advise i needed....my hi spec's dont work as well as my previous big disc conversion. I thought it was down the the MS and was just going to replace with a standard unit as i thought the current one was just old and probably needed changing.

Can i ask what you mean by 21mm or 23mm?

Oh.........and is it worth changing the servo too?

Thanks

Mine are 4pots and 300 mm discs with 18" wheels and 4 stud fitment i also fitted the bigger master cylinder and stop very well

The wheels are 195, 16"s. Standard 4 stud pattern with 25mm spacer each at rear, 20 mm spacer at each front.

I can have up to 300mm disks iirc, but if the caliper increase surface area anyway there is no.need for that extra expense, cars quick but not a track car so 260mm disks with 4 pots should be a winner do you think??

Thanks for replys and help dont want to waste money on brakes need to get it right first time :agree:

i'm running GTT servo and the golf master cyl, internal diameter is 21 or 23mm (cant remember) opposed to the GTT's 18 (i think) basically more fluid moved to compensate for bigger pots on the calipers

i'm running hi-spec 325mm setup with alloy bells and inch thick discs, under 16" wheels the calipers required some 'trimming' but i've got 0.25mm clearance between caliper and wheel according to my feeler gauge

bit overkill but they look sexual and do stop it very well

Im running the 285's, but i've not been impressed with them to date, i've bled them numourus times thinking there was air in the system but i've now put it down the the master cylinder and/or servo. If yours and others are running well, it must be a weak link in the system.

I'll change them both to be sure. Cars going no where at the minute.......:crap:

yea i had the billet 285's before, and pedal was ok but not great, even though the brakes worked. on 325's pedal travel was very long and progressive, now with the golf master they are nice and firm and bite very quickly
