found this on ebay. odd idea. looks mad! whats your opinion

description-

Installed on my 246hp Renault 5 Gt Turbo
It's an used upgrade kit for twin renault 5 turbo carbs + exhaust manifold with external wastegate
Two pics show the kit fitted in the engine bay
Kit include:
- "Y" inlet for twin carbs (Ø50mm inlet)
- Two modified carbs
- Fuel regulator (twin outlet) + support
- Inlet manifold
- 4-1 exhaust manifold (T25 flange)
- External wastegate (Audi 2.2L 5 cylinder)
- Wastegate exhaust
- Downpipe (Ø60mm)

Seen it before, not for a while mind. That kind of money and your on the EFI path as aposed to old carbs. Just my opinion

hmmmm £850 that's a lot of dosh for something that's going to make your car harder to set up.

Not a bad looking set-up tbh.. Bet it cost a few bob to do.. Still £850 :eek::eek:

Yeah more fuel. In theroy should solve the carb bowl emptying issue after 220-230hp. But you'll have two carbs to try and setup.

£26000 a lot before that the most I had seen was a £16000 Subaru lump up for sale on a Subaru forum, sidc I think

Engine prices aren't that much of a shock, this isn't tuning for the road kit but full on race kit, different level of performance and reliability expected entirely. And as with everything if you can't do it yourself you pay for it. With top level pectel and motec ecu's going for well upwards of £4k and Nickaseal liners needing you to sell a kidney on the black market, it's hardly a bargain, but I understand the price....

Have you seen who is selling that as well? Julian Godfrey engineering. Top spec from a top-line engineer. No wonder it's pricey.

They did some work for my engine, one of the things was new bespoke valve spring seats made thicker and with a different seat to accommodate double springs and modified top retainers, again to accommodate double springs.
