View Full Version : Quick question having a little problem
I'm trying to take my pressure plate off and having trouble getting the allen key bolts to turn it just keeps wanting to slip and round off the bolts any help you guys could give me would be great thanks. http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w406/hickman26/E59A661F-3E1E-4FB9-8BCF-5F2053CD493A-1944-000000F90277D57A_zpsb4680a2f.jpg
Only way is a decent correct size fitting allen key built into a socket then use a ratchet to undo. Or the correct size allen key with an extention slipped over the end for leveredge. BUT tbh if youve already rounded off the bolt head then you could try mole grips ( not pretty ) or weld a new nut onto the old bolthead.....Try gentle heat, ir shocking the bolt with a hammer first....Will also help if you lock the flywheel solid to make sure you get all the load into undoing the bolts rather than spinning the flywheel

Whack a torx bit in the rounded off part of the hex with a hammer.
Thanks for your advice ill get back to it first tomorrow morning and hope I have some better luck :crap:

like said correct size allen key, give it a tap with a hammer to make sure its seated and also can knock it free abit. If that doesnt work smash a torx bit in there. If that doesnt work - molleys
I had the same problem years ago. I ended up hammering a socket over the bolt and it came of easily then (I forget the size, possibly 13mm?)
I had the same issue recently and used one of these to get them out
