Hi and welcome. I'm very pleased that there's someone on here now with a modified 1.2 tce engine.

I quite fancy a twingo gt as a cheap to run daily and whilst looking into it I've noticed a complete lack of information regarding power increases. All you seem to hear is get a ktec remap.

What sort of boost pressure are you running and how long has it been 160bhp?

Please get some pics up and tell us a bit more about it.

You'll find that we're quite a friendly bunch round here so do think about investing in the £25 membership fee. It's money well spent!

It's 1.25 bar boost, there was a map with 1.5bar boost generating 188lbs ft. It's a ko3 turbo custom manifold and exhaust, 182 injectors but are at full cycle ( need 330 really) ktr foam filter, fmic, all pipe work and intake had to be made onto the car as a custom - this is what I want can you make it style job... So I had to search company's that would do this kind of build for me and I only found 1... Because of this the engine is standard no internal forging yet, I do want to do this but it's frustrating as there is Only rods are available at 799 plus vat... From cat cams, forged internals are only made by one company in italy.

Car is lowered 40mm with 25mm spacers on each rear, 20mm spacer each front, ktec " uprated" disks and green stuff pads until I can get some 4 pots on.

ktec are planing lighter fly wheel and better clutch, it's a valeo as o/e and can only take up to 20kgs before slippage.... Mine is on 17kgs ish.... Before it was remapped I changed clutch, engine oil and gearbox oil changed, new spark plugs and am in process of fitting 13 row mocal no able to finish as d.tweaks sent me wrong oil feed pipe, car has water cooled oil cooler as standard, o/e turbo was water and oil cooled, ko3 is only oil cooled so I want to use mocal to keep the oil cool, then as the water is not being used to cool the oil can be used to keep other things cool instead and shouldn't get to hot.... I couldn't find any room to fit oil catch tank and do have a boost control valve to fit once the mapping is smoothed out and finished.

The bonnet is raised slightly to help the heat escape as things were getting very hot due to bigger turbo, the vent is obviously to help get some fresh air into the engine bay to help cooling and is also over the side of the filter.

It's mapped on standard ecu with standard cat relocated under the car.

The tce engine has oil cooled pistons jets from block under pistons and sodium cooled valves, so is a decent engine IMO.

I guess companies need to know there is a roi when they make products.... There is a market for it I'm sure twing133 forum and Clio sport both have members who would purchase... Maybe a magazine feature would help get the preverbal ball rolling.... I mean the 5 is only a 1.4 and look at how that took off... Love the 5 by the way campus was my first car... Mate had a black 5 that had stickers on it from bb tuning 330 bhp with flames... Lol.

Passat im told, vag ko,3.

I did want and had gt1544 v, but heard that these used to go in the 5 then pop due to heat problems, you can tell it was on of that type because of the small triangle on the hotside turbine. The company said the ko3 was better as more readily available and cheaper and fits better due to oil drain being in right place and when gt1544 was rotated to fit the oil feed /drain was pointing up... Not such a good thing....

1150 curb weight iirc.

It was a 30th bday present to myself, that and doing great south run for alzimers society.

I was saving for an evo 8 mr. But then decided to keep small engine and do something special with it. Had some right slatings for doing this.... :cooter: to that...

Thought here may be a good place to help me with the forging part that is now over due... Lol :)

2nd gear turns itself left if your heavy footed.

Very spiky... But mapping not finished yet, ktec mapper andy wanted 3 days ideally but only had a Friday from 9.30 - 6pm with it ( on my birthday ) it was on his wish list, and wrote the map from scratch on the o/e Damos.

It will go back for further mapping but I would like the gphead gasket done and forged rods and pistons with head bolts before ideally.... I don't want to destroy the engine I want to keep it and make it strong so I can drive it hard occasionally. :smokin:

It's a daily runner also as I foster. Can't use the kwaka for the kids you know.... Lol

I say see what the stds rods pistons can handle? whats the worst that could happen hey ??? :wasntme:
Alot of our members have saved alot of money, stuck with std internals and still made alot of reliable power.

Yep a few cowboy companies here... would be interesting to find out who...

Power speed.......They made manifold, fitted and supplied turbo, fmic and fitted, they put cat under car and powder coated rocker cover.

I supplied samco hose, clips, rocker gasket, oil and filter for oil change, ktec added in 182 injectors before mapping that I supplied, my good friend and good mechanic did oil changes, clutch, mocal, spark plugs toe rope lowering, vent etc. Already had exhaust put on by power flow

Power speed were a breath of fresh air, I drove from gosport Hampshire to ashford so they could just have a look and see if they could do it.... After a coffee and some chit chat and pretty much.... Money talks, how much you got... I have this amount, but want to pay this amount, Cash in hand.... Ok deal... See you next week... :agree:From my dealings with them I would go back and Lao recommend them. I spoke with andy.

Matt worked on it there and seems like a good bloke tbh, I
My mechanic said it looks very tidy and for the money is a lot of bang for my buck.

Go on tell me how it is.... :crap:

Good bad news.

Just paid up or he year :D

Tbh Powerspeed are one of the better companies... they have some clever blokes there... although tend to demand a high price for there work (but happy to work on new projects.. so swings and roundabouts...)
