I haven't heard spaghetti snapping recently.

Could you liken it to a can of marbles being shaken, or a glass marble being dropped on a tiled floor?

Possibly but would say its duller than that, its not a faint sound, you can clearly hear it.

Det? Is it from the engine bay? Just on full boost?

Don't no if this would make a difference but today is the first time IV put BP ultimate in normally shell v power

shouldnt be det at those boost lvls with ultimate and 11.8 unless your AEI line has popped off or something and its not retarding the ignition timing? have you moved the tdc sensor? check the aei diagpragm hasn't split, blow down the pipe and check it holds pressure.

:agree: i run 17psi and get 11.9/12 @ wot all day long, no det on v power.
I would, like Tony says check aei, then look for loose hoses.
Didnt you recently rebuild your carb?

Yes mate I did service the carb, which has resolved the issue I had.The car runs great and pulls well, but obviously something is amiss..There's no bleed off all on the actuator.I will have a good look tomorrow.thanks for the help

No tony not touched the tdc sensor.

The AEI has a pipe with a connector just near it on the inside of the firewall, can easily pop off, worth cable tieing, also as i said check AEI diapraghm inside hasnt split.

After running the BP stuff low I put v power back in and whatever the noise was has gone.Went for a good drive today and everything seamed fine.

Defo a pinking problem

I have a scooby legacy GTB import, it's critical I run super unleaded, On the scooby scene people NEVER use BP fuel spesh on the legacy as it has a slightly higher CR that the impreza, I don't know why but generally BP is a hated brand. When I first got the car I ran BP (one tank) and it sounded terrible knocking like mad, I was lucky not to cause serious damage.

I run V power or tesco's 99. both 99Ron and never had an issue.

Ive allways used shell, and no im around 200hp i allways use vpower, i used to stick any old crap in my 5 before i rebuilt it(even a diesel petrol mix a few times from cars we'd drained lol)
Sounds like theres deffinetly a common negative experience with the BP fuels :disagree: Glad it was sorted easily
