mk3 golf starter

hi all my sister got a 1.4 mk3 golf and the starter motor is not great a friend of my has a spare 2.0 starter motor in his shed.
just seeing if any of you guy know if it will fit before trying?
my friend said they look the same but i dont want to go just on his word as he pointed at the alt frist!

Ive checked on our parts catalogue and the gearbox fitting is totally different. 2litres have two bolt holes, 1.4's have 3 bolt holes.

Like previous post, they are totally different. Also, bit of advice, get rid of the golf, 1.4s are the worst engines for oil pump failure, bottom ends are so common.....
