Looks like a cheap poor copy of a gt2871 even if it was real deal would be far to big for a C1J unless using a large lump of noz.

Thats a T25 rear just the larger size .64 housing which is abit too big for my likeing when running carb

Once there fitted with genuine Garrett bearings they work quite well, a few people have run the copy turbos before but as said if you can afford a genuine one go for that

im just moving house so moneys pretty tight at the moment. my hybrid has just let go and im back on to the t2 i brought off you mark :agree: but i think its slowly dying.

i dont want to spend another countless amounts of pounds on a turbo for it to last a week like all the turbo's ive brought so far, (apart from this trusty t2 of mark  it just keeps on going).

cheers for your input chaps.

JP Racing has bought a cheapy turbo and rebuilt the moving bits with genuine garrett parts, might be worth sending him a PM.:agree:

Yarp it was a cheap Chinese copy with a good set of bearings put in it and seems fine as the car made some good figures :)

Is this a very involved job? What are the costs in the parts?
Thanks

It's not a diy job, the shaft needs balancing once the cores built, without balancing it doesn't matter what bearings you put in, it won't last.

To be honest I just brought a nice new Chinese turbo some decent 360 degree bearings and took the turbo apart :) it was marked up from where it was originally balenced so I just made sure when it all went back together I lined them all up. The turbo has done about 1500 miles and is still as good as when it was first built and no smoke or problems ;) proper cheeky it cost £130 for the turbo and around £60 for bearings if I remember right also the car made 374.4bhp with it on at scoffs so can't be bad ;) if it lasts a few years it works out cheaper than spending big money on a turbo IMO but I only do a few thousand miles a year in my car

Haha at that price you could change it every year!
