Evening everyone i have a water temp gauge i want to fit to my 5 but it looks like it goes where the sensor is on the water pump is there anyway that i can have the original gauge on the dash clocks woking and the extra gauge working aswell any help would be appreciated

I think a few people have fitted them on the side plate on the cylinder head

The only way i can think of doung that would be drilling the plate and welding the fitting on i think i wonder if anyone has done that

i wonder how much it would effect the gauges if you just connected them in parallel together?

1 of the N/A R5 models had a water pump with 2 ports on it for sensors, can't remember which 1 though

Yea i thought about cutting the sensor off my new gauge and wireing it up to my original and see if it worked

I only found that out after ordering a new pump from a motor factors and this twin port thing turned up, I don't know which model it's off though I'm affraid :/

If i cant wire it to the original i will weld a steel fitting on to blanking plate and put sensor in that

cant you drill and tap into the blanking plate on the head. thats what i did, hasnt leaked yet ?! :D

The readings will be incorrect if you wire them both into the same sensor.

End plate on cylinder head will be ok, just drill and tap it. You could get an alloy pipe to fit in the top hose that would work.

Its not the need its just nice to have the both working
