ignition barrel

Hi guys, just removed the alarm from my car. Need to remove the ignition barrel to get the wires repaired , anyone know how you remove it from the outer casing with breaking anything.

Put the key in and turn to either position 1 or 2, I think 2. There's 2 small rectangular pronges underneath that need pushing in simultainiuosly with long nose pliers and it will then slide out.
