There cars off the road for the winter?

The tax is due on my van at the end of the month and the van shortly after. I think both are going to get a good clean/wax and a few months holiday until next spring.

If you are what are your plans, are you removing wheels and axle stands approach or just going for the **** it, it will be fine??

Well. The head of my 5 is currently on my mums kitchen table. And looking very sorry for itself on the car park. So I'm taxing it again and gettin it sorted properly!

Ill be running mine till probably the end of month or when the weather takes a turn for the worse whichever comes first.
Then its into the garage under two covers. I dont bother with axle stands i just back it out the garage to run the engine till the fan kicks in once a month and i make sure not to leave the handbrake on.
The following spring ill change the oil/filter, fuel filter and bung a £5 of fresh super in before i head out for the first time.
It will still be taxed tho incase i get a nice dry winters day ;)

have os sill inspected and any attention needed
then paint whats needed, side skirts, os rear 1/4, windscreen surround.
fix wobbly seats

I usually stick mine in the garage with the hand brake off and sorn it. It'll be taxed through winter this year as ill be using it for the track day next month. After that it'll be back in the garage though no doubt! :D

I won't be taking it off the road officially, but I don't generally take it out in the wet if salt has been put down. Taking Fluffy off the road in winter is sheer madness. The early morning Sunday run when it's close to freezing is simply awesome. Get up early (reall early) go for a swift drive and watch the sun come up. Get out of the built up area's and have a flask of Coffee with you and you have a classic moment to yourselves.

My Raider gets the winter off, but I'm looking to get T-Cup road legal over the next few months

R5 Gt Turbo will keep going through the winter, RS500 off the road and the Escort Cossy can sit on the drive with no tax. Why do you have to tax each car you can only drive on at a time. You should pay one tax charge and then drive any of your cars.:agree:

Mines going to be sorned for a while. Tax runs out this month,

Gives me a nice bit of time to get it rebuilt and running correctly,

Well, gonna run the raider until the end of the month, possibly upto end of November but when the icy roads and salt makes it first appearance thats it. Gonna park it up handbrake off under a cover on the drive and start it up every few weeks.

The 11's out of tax end of this month, so looking to MOT it the end of the month so its good to go for next year. Probably just leave it outside on me nans drive, unless I tidy her garage up and tuck the 11 up in there until spring.

Mines got a top sealant and 2 coats of durable wax on and I'll just rinse the arches out once in a while...
Once it's got an MOT I'll drive it any time :) to be fair, it cant get much worse than it is already
