Hi all, just been to look at a J reg GT in Tungy, looked a bit sorry for itself with some numerous war wounds afflicting it and think i got the itch to buy it for my next project.
Ain't got a clue if it's my mid life crisis kicking in lol. So only issue know what is going to be my track car either the raider or tungy!

Could the tungy not be a good track car?

Any pics of the areas of concern?

Tungy is solid, never been welded, dents in roof, bonnet pushed back about half an inch possibly just knock slam panel forward, drivers door hanging bad reversed into something whilst door open. Small amount of dents hear and there!

Make the raider mint. If the tungy has war wounds then just get it mechanically sorted and get it out on track.

Makes sense to me :agree:

Well had to walk away from the tungy, those the chap put a mot on it I just couldn't up the £1500 he wanted. Crease in roof, door pushed into front wing, rotten boot, slam panel pushed back an inch, fan on switch, alarm hanging out of dash and list goes on. Gutted he wanted so much.

The weight is taken care of by the amount of rust on all the 5s
Strength is taken care of by the strutbrases added
And driven by a cool hairdreser that can open the roof up to let the smells out..

Always wonderd why they botherd with a sunroof the front windows are big enough to let all the air in you need pretty pointless really :)

since opening the sunroof drags the air out from the top, generally the hottest point in the car, without blowing it in generally means it quieter and less gust in the car ;)

i think the 50/50 of whether you or the passenger gets wet adds to the fun :D

True this happens all the time and after about 8months ownership I get caught out still everytime!!

It's not just the sunroof though when I pull off and open the window it p1sses in aswell..

Why did I buy one again?
