Still, though, no photoshop to achieve the effect, just a wee bit to get rid of the rig arm attached do the bonet.

If anyone wants shots like that let me know. Its pretty easy to achive cause the rig is all built up already.

Thanks man, really. Sometimes I love that fact it completely standard and some times I just wanna tear into it. I asked Dave "Dave-SBS" about painting the kit black so I didnt have to worry about the standard fade but he adviced against it as theres not many Phase1 kits kicking about without paint in really good nick. I totally agree with him now.

Im thinking about picking up another 5 though just to work on!

mine needs the skirts putting on and idealy a fresh spray-over. i was tempted to get a tungy kit for it in the summer, like the 'not-normal' one. but i liked the rarity of the grey stuff :)

No way! Thats awesome. She still runs great. Needs a good clean but def in good nick.

Its at the 48000 mark now. Still drives really nice. Had it on the RR recently with some RTOC peeps in Ayrshire and it came in at 118 bhp which is so close to the estimated prodution bhp for 1986 so I was happy.

If I mod the engine at all it will prob just be a T25 turbo and a front mounted intercooler. But I dont know cause I feel I should keep it standard. I think Ill always keep the aesthetics standard except the suspension.

Im loving this thread. Everyones 5s are nice.

i know the pictures came out awesome but the right up was:jerkoff: he basically copied and pasted the email i sent. May I ask why you removed the firewall to the scuttle area?? Doesn't that cause a lot of noise and bad smells in the cockpit?

lol at the noise , i have 2 carbon seats ,a cage ,no sound deadening or dash to help with that hahah. As for the smell , its no worse than before tbh i run a raised bonnet at the rear dont know if thats what helps but i dont really get fumes inside. I cut it out as i had seen haz's and realised hom much access it made i can now do the starter motor real easy from above and the have better ability for efi and possibly a manifold . The original was in a bad way too so 2 birds with 1 stone :)

Not having a dig m8 , but i found this a bit strange that a french car mag would use german Vag engined 5 on the cover :confused:

I think it wouldve been better suited in Redline Mag than PFC imo

No not really,just a pain to get in and out off :laugh: On the bumper front ive had that about 4 years.At the time i didnt want to cut the cross member out.I now dont have a standard one,sold 2 last year including a brad new one.

buy the porker wheels, and get some golf adaptors and bore out the centres... that way you'll have proper 5 stud ;)

They work well if the wheel you're trying to fit has a large offset (+50) so you lose some of the 20mm spacer offset.

yeah I did think that, were they vw centre bore?

they were off an E30 bmw, centre bore needed machining out, the offset needed reducing to fit inside the arches, and the rear needed to be machined to clear the pads/calipers as the centres are 'meaty' lol
