View Full Version : tax exempt?
do cars still become tax exempt is this true i was told when my car becomes 25yrs old it is a classic and i will no longer have to pay for tax:eek: anybody know anything about this??
Unfortunately that's not the case.
i think its only cars manufactured before 1973 (i think) which are exempt from tax.
There was a petition going round to have the 25 year thing reinstated... not sure how its progressing though
Nope. Only vehicles made before 1973 can be classed as historic and are exempt tax. Stupid rule really, in that it is no longer exempt on vehicles of a certain age.
Wounder thought maybe this country had something good to offer motorists for once but oviously not lol
This has been talked about on here only recently.
There is also MOT exemption for cars older than a certain year now too (1965 or something).
