Bit late I know, but, having taken a break from sprints and hillclimbs for nearly a year, I thought I'd better dust off the cobwebs from the race licence....so, I entered a sprint on the 26th of August at North Weald airfield in Essex, run by my club The Sevenoaks and district Motor Club.
I entered my Clio 172 in standard class and also Richard Derricks Clio 182 in Roadgoing class.
We had fun!!;)
My Car in its standard form was going well on the bumpy surface, but had a few 'moments' in Richards more circuit based setup.
The 182 was quicker in the (bumpy) straights but the 172 was better on the twisty bits.

A report from the 'Banjo' marhalls....We were cars 35 and 23.

We always wave to them as its the furthest point from civilisation on the course:laugh:

Car no 39 'nice lancia' doesn't paint the right picture..... It was a 037 and very very nice, I was allowed a little tickle in it and didn't want to get out of the driver seat.

The 037's are very special cars for sure. The last 2wd car to ever win the wrc

Without wanting to go off topic, I've just got to share this video of three VERY special Lancias (inc my fav car of all time - the S4), and one of the luckiest blokes around that day:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXgWWNJVdYA

I love his reaction to the S4. I kind of get the feeling he likes the engine

Can I bring a non-road legal motor to join in on this?

For sprinting? Yes, you will go into mod prod though I think, road going means mot, insurance and tax presented on the day.

What car/state of tune is it?

Renault Fuego, 1982, Original configuration but the 2.0 carb lump has been replaced by a 2.0Turbo EFi lump (Same base block though, J7R).
Caged and stripped, was an RAC approved hillclimber before I stashed it away in 2005, just been resurrected. No major structural changes.
No lights, indicators, horn etc.
