Were should this be installed inside or outside to msa rules?

Best to put the switch inside so you can operate it yourself, and use a pull cable so a marshall can operate it from outside.
Also, use an FIA one with the resistor kit so you don't fry your altenator every time you operate it with the engine still running.

No worries, and glue a small enough washer on the end of the 'key' as we used to suffer from some keys wearing out and not pushing the contact inside the switch home, resulting in the car cutting out over bumps.;)
