View Full Version : Valeo Front Fogs - Yellow

Bigfoot

Seeming they are not available, I have been speaking to the valeo rep today who says I should send details of what items I would be interested in on a group buy and they may look into reproducing them if enough interest. I have sorted out Radiators for Mike, but I am looking at if possible yellow fog lights as I know they are not available anymore, or are they still from Renault? Any other valeo items would be interested in a group buy and can see what sort of prices and quantity would need and will see what I can do, as really the more items from them the more willing they will be doing a deal for us.

I bought some from Renault a year or so ago for my old 21, they were £35 each then.

Its worth checking if they are still available from Renault as I often see on eBay certain parts with NLA status attached to them. I'm sure your aware its not always the case and instead just a method used by a seller to help boost the price/demand for their item.

I purchased them from renault over a year ago as well, should have got more, I found a new one on eBay and Mike was over for some over parts and before I could unwrap the Fog light he was on the phone to somebody else offering me good money for it. Thats what lead me to believe they are not available any more.

I know a lot of people use the same sales technique or add stupid mark ups on the items to put them on eBay, if the item is new they are more than likely available from Renault, latest case I have seen is the Rear seat caps over the hinges, these are available at just over £1 each from renault, people are trying to sell them for £20 delivered on eBay, nothing quite like making money out of people  likewise with boost hose rubber strap is about 300% markup and many other items I have got from renault in the past.

Valeo clutches I am not sure how available they are or what prices people are getting them for and can enquire about these as well if people are after them.

Are the rear seat hinges really that price from Renault??

As I just bought a set on here off of a member who guaranteed me that they cost more than what I paid him!! If they are £1 each I paid him a 400% mark up!!!

Depending on price, I'd defo be interested in a Valeo radiator, and their 'green box' clutch.

Liam, I assume you are talking about the one's I sold you. First of all let me just clear up that at no point did I guarantee what they cost. I actually told you I bought these some years back and could not remember what they cost at the time. Based on the fact they were going for £20 a set on ebay I figured £15 was a fair price. Now I am not an unreasonable person, and its not my intention to make money out of others members. Therefore if you want to PM your paypal address I will gladly refund half your money.

I'd be up for a clutch if they were available cheaper.. I'd pay up front, deposit or whatever, if the prices were right.

Mark- I am not angry as I paid a price that I was happy with. It's my fault for not doing my research. I am on the rtoc as I totally appreciate the help and togetherness of the members. I have had some members send me out parts for nothing when I have been desperate which i am really grateful for.

I have no interest in arguing or falling out with anybody on here over a couple of quid. :) spend the few quid on your five or get me a beer at the next ND that I will most def be attending.

Then everyone is happy :agree: genuinely no hard feelings mate.

Getting back on track-I'd be interested in a clutch and fog lights depending on price.

Well done for looking into this Dale :)

I have just sent off an email asking about yellow front fogs and a green box clutches. What is the going rate of the green box clutch so I can get an idea on if going ahead with it is worthwhile as I am guessing would need a saving between £10 to £20 from normal price, or how easy are they to get hold of as I know GSF just deal with sachs clutches now, but possible can get hold of Valeo if you ask.

15-08-2012, 13:40
As headlights are available from other suppliers I wouldn't have thought there would be much demand for those, but if enough interest I could ask depending on what they get back to me on the fog lights, just taken a look for TRW and can do them for as cheap as £40 plus delivery. Can source 2 sets of those, but might be able to get more straight from the supplier but not sure on those costs without ringing them up checking availability on them.

FSP - look similar to the ones I bought from a guy in Spain. They come up on the Spanish eBay quite regularly and look fairly decent for second and ones. Looking at around £45 inc postage from Spain.

Failing that why not get clear ones and then Lamin - X them with a yellow wrap.

I bought some just to give it go for the price they are good quality and a perfect fit and look decent enough when fitted BUT if you are after OE they may not be good enough for you they are not Valeo Cibie etc and the front glass is clear only the rear reflector is yellow I`m sure you could split them and spray etc to make them better but for the price they aren`t bad were quick delivery if yours are fubar these are more than good enough for the price..

Closest I had was rockauto who said they have got them in the warehouse and place the order, but 2 days later, sorry stock was wrong :crap: so I keep searching eBay trying to find them from companies which dont list every part number they get there hands on and put them on eBay. Thing is even though they have said they haven't got stock they wont remove it from eBay.
