:)nice 5, Wallingford as in just outside Reading/ Goring?
That is seriously nice!!!!!
Thanks everyone, she is pretty isn't she:) hopefully you'll all see it a little more next summer.
Wrigthy, yes Wally is a little north of goring.
Some slightly different ones,
Whilst looking at these this morning i realised i'd left the battery clamp off:o
As an aside, as there was a thread on here a while back the studs securing the battery tray are in the engine bay so i have a small job ahead of me trying to find the nuts in the passenger well:(
A nice set of OE bougichord leads would look lovely aswell :)

stunning car m8 , seems to have changed hands a cpl of times now , i guess mainly due to fear of driving it and letting the elements take effect ,im guessing you paid strong money for it ? imo in my eyes this needs to sit in a bubble in the garage and not get used ,could be worth alot more in another 10-15 years
What you mean i shouldn't be using it for the shop run;)
I actually think that would be a shame, i didn't buy it for that although i'll admit it won't be seeing much rain but i want to use it:)
that car is sooooooooooooo nice it is in mint condition love it ,keep it that way ,happy days:)

looks tidy :-)
Hope u look after it :)
Kris, yeah not entirely happy with those red leads, not against colour coded engine bay leads and hoses but on their own, no. i guessed that they are aftermarket am i right?
Sy, yes 14.3 now.
reconditioning the battery tray over the weekend, stupid idea putting the nuts inside the passenger cabin but i've just reread raj's thread on it so here's hoping.
I know thats small beer to most of you guys but we all need to start somewhere:)
Yeah they are aftermarket mate, the standard items are available from Renault for around twenty quid :)
Thanks for the help Kris:)

Are you sure? Renault were supplying only red Bougi's a few years ago, and I know that that car did have a set of those fitted.
Renault did seem to find some black ones again though, as I bought a set last year. I was pleasantly surprised when they turned up and they were black again
Bill, i bought these just before Nat Day, :)

My bad,......lets hope they continue coming up wuth black sets :D
So you think they are Bougi's anyway? I have to admit so far i've only frowned at them as they are not at the top of my to do list.:o
I'll check at the weekend, i suppose if they are they they'll have some kind of resale value when i do get around to them:)
beautiful example, enjoy it and look after it!! :D

If they say Bougicord on them then leave them on??
Easy way to check is to just flex them, the bougicords are stiff M-F's!
Lovely car that, were certainly getting a few minty fresh OE examples in the club now?! I reckon we've got enough colours to do a new brochure if Renault wanted to re-launch the 5!
The writingon them is not distinct enough to see even at full size.

Im sure someone once told me red leads were fitted/supplied by some dealers. Its not the first 'factory standard' car ive seen with red leads.

When ex member Bryn, first bought that car into the club (all those years ago, with 9k on the clock), it had black oe leads. He changed them at some point during his time with the car and the Renault supplied replacements were red. I don't know if the leads have been changed since then.

This is the kind of history of the car that i'd like to know please, if anyone knows anything please feel free to pm me:)
Anyway it turns out that they are in fact Bougicord 403 class B leads and yes they are a bit stiff, it doesn't really alter the fact that i would prefer a black cap and leads but i shant be losing any sleep, it may get done when it gets done.
If anyone has any tips for battery tray removal or more importantly getting at the nuts in the passenger foot well, i'm listening.
Well whoever said that removing the tray was a total ballache was spot on, after struggling to remove the fuse box i, i didn't really know what i was doing, i discovered that the soundproofing pretty much went up right behind the dash and as i didn't want to remove that the only option would have been to cut a section out.
The tray is actually not as bad as i thought, this is what it looks like after i had a go with some wire wool and i reckon once i undo the four bolts i can get to i'll be able to mask it off to do in situ.
I got a friend of mine to knock up some pictures on photoshop to see what the wheels would look like with some different colours.
I hope i don't get too roasted for this, i want to stress that they would be my spare set of wheels, i am keeping the original rims and the Michelin MXV's for shows and the like.

There were also a few like this:crap:

Anyway i'm still pondering this and i would have to find someone to do it to the standard i'd like.

yep mate when i brought my car the alloys were in balck.at 1st i didnt mind them and quite liked them..........but then after a while i kinda went off them :scared: i had a look at another std 5s with the silver speedlines and decided to get rid so i got them shot blasted and sprayed them myself :) lol plenty of laqure was needed though.
BUT then i do like the silver trim around the black alloy.........:D:laugh: i wont be changing though.

raider style ;) looks best
Black and red looks good :)
loving that! well fresh!:agree:
Such a nice car hoolio, I couldnt help but think a set of polished clio turbines would look awesome on this car, it depends how original you want to keep it I suppose.
Anyway I live in berkshire, I hope to see the car aound one day.
After discovering that I have a warped n/s/f disc it seems the mini refurb will be starting a little early. Here's £500 of parts from Renault, not much for the money really.
Wishbone's, steady bars, hubs and drive shafts will be brushed off treated and painted as they are still in okay nick.
Yep it is, fortunately I didn't pay that but the decision I had to make was go for cheaper copy parts or keep it Reno and when it came down to it I felt it was the only option for the car if not pocket.
Edit, correction
What a wicked car! I'm after one identical but with 30-40k on the clock, if anyone knows of one please drop me a PM.
Time warp machine!
Jesus I'm going to stop posting by phone, its got I mind of its own. Hope the post above makes some sense.
