Hi all just noticed a small amount of oil is leaking from I`m pretty sure is from the end cap on passenger side of the gearbox on my 5. Will whip it off tom but do I need a gasket of some description or is just sealed with gasket sealant. Also when I take the cover off is there anything thats worth checking (mechanically) over once the cover is off? thanks for any info....
There's a fat O ring underneath that cap mate. You will need to drain oil, take the cap off look at the o ring for any imperfections. If there aren't any give the surface a good clean. Stick it back on and tighten up diagonally...

usually N/S inner gaitor that leaks, have a good look at that area
Not unheard of for the end cap to rot as well, one of mine had a hole in it where it had gone rotten.

Spot on Chunk a small patch of corrosion and a tiny pin hole was the cause of the leak, hidden away till I took the wheel off.I have a spare box with a clean cover on will swop over at weekend thanks for the quick replys chaps..:)
