Just finished putting the car back together and have a problem with the gearbox, there is a hole directley under the exhaust elbow and I have no idea what gos in there, it needs sorting as it pisses oil out every where. This box has a code of JB3S something something. The other gearbox I have does not have this hole and has a diffrent code on the tag JB3 000? Anyone able to shead any light on this?

i think there should be a plastic bung in there.

There is a hole with a plastic bung in but that is in the middle of the rear gearbox mount. Is that the one you are thinking of

jb3 000 is not a GTT gearbox, so not sure about that one.

there should be a 3" high rubber pipe that pushes into that hole with a breather cap on top.

That one is in there with the breather cap on. This hole is closer to the bulkhead

in the middle of the rear engine mount bracket ? thats the speedo cable hole. the GTT should have a bung in that hole.

It does have a bung in that one, its black with a little hole in the top. I wish I could up load a picture.

thats the only 2 holes normally.

directly below the turbo elbow is about half way across the gearbox, can't say I've ever seen a hole or pipe there. whatever it is, can you not block it off ?

I am going to have to find a rubber bung to jam in there. Ive not taken anything out of it so its a bit strange, maybe there was no oil in the box since I brought the car. Im not 100% on those gearbox codes so I will have to check in the morning when I get in the garage.

another possibly insulting question, but is the ring that n/s driveshaft gaiter on the correct way round when it bolts onto the box and sandwiches the inner cv.... i've learnt the hard way on that one lol

I think you have just insulted yourself, if you had read my first post then you would not be asking me such a silly question. It is nothing to do with the shaft or how it gos in, like I have said there is a hole in the top of the gear box below the ex elbow close to the bulkhead. This is why I came away from cliosport:brickwall:
