hi guys, i have the rear engine mount off scoff that uses v8 mounts, i was reversing out of a drive on a hill and my gearstick moved so far it almost hit the dash then realised i now have a dent in the bonnet:cry:. on further inspection the rear engine mount has broke into pieces and engine had lifted and hit bonnet, what do u think could cause the rubber to do this, i did not use the bracket for scoffs mount that was with the standard mount in photo. thanks mike

maybe the rubber mount itself isnt intended to take the load in the direction its being applied in when used with those mounts  , not trying to diss his work at all as they look great and i have been thinking of getting one myself, interested to see what people think :crap:

I've seen a few fail now and wondering if the stiff rear is doing all the work due to the fronts being soft. It's a quick and cheap part to replace but if it's wiped out your bonnet it's a shame :(.

Loggs punted out a fair few sets of the fronts now to compliment scoffs rear so it will be nice to see if any break once a full set are fitted. I know Robbie runs these on his 500hp 5 but I think he may have added a bolt onto his rear for extra strength.

Im sure brigsy has a full set on his van and he drives it like he stole it so I'm sure between the 2 of them it will show up any weaknesses in the rubbers when 3 are fitted.

Ive got all 3 fitted on my van, no problems as of yet and i dare say i drive it a lot harder than most. I never had any problems with the rear mount only although i had 2 new front standard mounts.

All i can think is that your front mounts are very soft and the rear mount is moving a lot? If you can break this mount easily a standard mount wont last you 5 mins:D

I broke mine last week the same way as yours, you just need to buy one from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Discovery-V8-Engine-Mount-Mounting-Rubbers-/280467096994?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item414d2445a2

Yep gonna get the two front off logg, put standard one back on for now, the gear stick still moves a bit so think I have damaged the fronts, I didn't no if it was my fault for not putting the plate on with new mount that came off old one. Thanks mike.
