Right Im sure the turbo's gone! Doesn't boost above 4000 rpm & smokes like a mo-fo!
What should I do? Buy a whole new turbo? Or Can this one be repaired? Or do i upgrade the turbo?.. If i upgrade the turbo what else would I need to buy? Headgasket.. Rings.. Pistons?
All I want to do is have a car that wont blow up every 5 minutes!
Anyone got any ideas?

If the turbo is dead then just get it rebuilt or another unit fitted. No need to 'uprate' anything else. All you need is good condition parts and decent carb setup for reliability.

What you need to do is find out why the turbo has failed, i.e. poor oil pressure, oil contaminated, too much boost, poor servicing etc.

Dont go paying 600 quid on a new blower for that to break aswell haha that would be rubbish :disagree:

I think my turbo's gone because of the hole in the intercooler.. Possibly been over boosting to compensate for the hole.
Any idea where to get a turbo rebuild kit from?
Will also change my headgasket while the turbo's out & rebuild the carb!
Where's the best place to get it all from?!
Thanks for your help guys :) when it's all running we'll have to meet up briggsy
I'm from near sedgefield

If your Head Gasket hasn't failed i'd save the time and money (If it's not broke don't fix it).

If you havn't all ready got one an AFR gauge is a must. Give scoff a PM think he still does them for around £150.

I have a NOS Garrett turbo for sale if your interested, just sitting on a shelf as it's too small for me.

This has been dry stored with silica bags, there is a light coating of surface rust on the ex housing.

I'll bring it with me to ND, I'm looking for £300 ovno, cost £545 new and has NEVER been fitted
